The 18th volume of the "Bibliothèque de l'Institut d'Études Sud-Est Européennes" gathers eight papers presented at the 12th International Congress of South-East European Studies (Bucharest, September 2-6, 2019), in the frame of the session The Balkans in the Age of New Imperialism and Beyond. The papers aim to demonstrate that imperialism was a policy that can be documented in the Balkans starting from 1875 and until the beginning of the Cold War by proposing some cases of imperialistic attitudes in the Balkans in the seventy years that separate the beginning of the Great Eastern Crisis and the end of the Second World War.
